If you’re a fan of classic 2D action-adventure games and RPGs like Legend of Zelda and Secret of Mana, you’ll want to check out Midora. Created by indie developer Epic Minds, Midora is an ambitious project which seeks to take the classic enemy slashing, dungeon conquering, world exploring, puzzle solving formula of Zelda and infuse it with new elements (such as a water-manipulating magic mechanic), set in an all-new world with its own ancient history and lore. The goal? To bring the great moments many of us had playing 2D action-adventure games to a new generation.

Midora launched with an initial Kickstarter goal of $60,000 and surpassed that goal yesterday. The game’s first stretch goal, which it needs about $12,000 more to reach, is to bring in outside help to port the game to Wii U and 3DS as smoothly and quickly as possible. There are also stretch goals for PlayStation 4 and Vita, iOS and Android, and finally Xbox 360 and Xbox One. There’s 12 hours left to go on the Kickstarter, so if you’d like to see Midora hit your favorite gaming machine, head on over and pledge your support.
