Following the untimely passing of Satoru Iwata, NeoGAF user NintendoGal recollected a special moment she shared with the Nintendo President through StreetPass. NintendoGal admired Iwata and fervently wished to meet him and personally thank him for his work. While she never had the chance, her husband did get to work with Iwata while he was at Nintendo of America’s Redwood City office. NintendoGal seized the opportunity, having her husband bring in her Nintendo 3DS whenever Iwata visited in order to StreetPass him.
She did this regularly and one day decided to send Iwata a personal message via StreetPass. “I never thought he’d ever take the time to write something back,” recollects NintendoGal. She sent him a simple, silly message: “MorFruitJokezPlz,” a reference to Nintendo’s E3 2012 press conference. Much to her surprise, however, the next time she checked her StreetPass Mii Plaza, a personal response from Iwata was waiting for her:
“I’m still stunned he took the time to [respond to me],” says NintendoGal, “Because unlike E3, this is a company/work environment and I imagine he was fairly busy at a CEO.”
