The last several months have seen a multitude of hints suggesting Rockstar North is hard at work on a sequel to their mega-popular 2010 title Red Dead Redemption. And with E3 on the horizon, we’ve reached the point in the year where the Internet will do anything an everything to uncover clues about what might be on display at the convention this month. And thanks to that drive, a Reddit user known as Gaudynights believes he’s uncovered another clue regarding Rockstar’s yet-to-be-announced title.

Gaudynights took to the Rockstar Games subreddit with a lengthy post regarding a few happenings on Rockstar’s website, exploring its recent downtime and a handful of yet-to-be-completed pages on the site that resulted in error messages when clicked. We’ll start with the blank pages.

Rockstar currently has two pages on its site that redirect to a 404 error page, and Gaudynights speculates that similarities in the way the pages are numbered suggest that both are related to the
Red Dead series. He claims that the first page is going to eventually be dedicated to the long-awaited Red Dead sequel, while the other will be for a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption. But this only represents part of the Redditer’s claims.

Gaudynights also uncovered a mysterious and somewhat unfinished screenshot that, while very likely to be from
Red Dead Redemption, could be from an alpha build of the unannounced sequel. He claims that a 3D technique known as “chromatic abberation” is present in the screenshot, something the older version of the RAGE engine used for Red Dead Redemption is not capable of. You can take a look at it in the gallery below.

While Gaudynights has certainly composed a well-thought-out theory regarding a possible new
Red Dead entry, it’s suggested that these rumors be taken with a heavy dose of salt, as this is purely speculation at this point. What do our readers think? Is a new Red Dead imminent? Sound off in the comments.

What's up Gamnesia readers, Name's Ethan. I like to make things up. It's my trade, my passion, and my lifeblood. I'm open to talk about any and all topics of discussion, should any of you care to engage me. Everything is fair game. Except the How I Met Your Mother finale. I'll talk about the Middle East, but I won't talk about that. And with that, I'll leave you with a quote from my favorite television series, Californication -- Rome is burning, he said, as he poured himself another drink. Yet, here I am knee deep in a river of p*****. Here it comes, she thought. Another self indulgent, whiskey soaked, diatribe about how f****** great everything was in the past. And how all us poor souls born too late to see the Stones at - wherever, or snort the good coke that they had at Studio 54 - well, we all just missed out on practically everything worth living for. And the worst part was, she agreed with him. Here we are, she thought, at the edge of the world - the very edge of western civilization and all of us are so desperate to feel something... anything... that we keep falling into each other and f****** our way toward the end of days. Cheers, fellow gamers. Long live Nintendo.
