The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu is in, and it’s packed with new Hyrule Warriors details. While much of the new information was already revealed during the Hyrule Warriors Direct, Famitsu had the scoop on some locations in the game that have not been revealed yet. Three new areas, two of which are based on or inspired by known locales in Zelda, were detailed. The final one, a twisted and eerie place that may not even really exist, is brand new!

The first new location revealed was Gerudo Desert. This area is obviously based off the Gerudo desert or valley areas in games like Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time, but re-imagined. Gerudo Desert is located in the Eastern parts of Hyrule near a place called Death Valley. The desert features a Gerudo village, but it has become overrun with monsters.

On the opposite side of the map in the West is the Temple of the Sacred Sword. Drawing inspiration from the Lost Woods of A Link to the Past and Twilight Princess, this forested area is in ruins and houses the Master Sword.

Finally, a brand new location was also revealed: The Palace of the Mind. This area is said to exist in a different space, but it suddenly appears in Hyrule. This whole area has a mysterious and eerie feel to it. It features a garden with roses that bloom in all different colors, regardless of the season. There are also strange, twisted trees with limbs that resemble tentacles. The actual Palace has open holes that lead into a deep abyss, and some of the structures within the Palace are twisted. It is implied that the Palace of the Mind is not a real place, but someone’s psyche manifested. The whole area is said to be riddled with obsession, hatred and jealousy.

What do you think of what you’ve seen and heard of Hyrule Warriors so far? How crazy does the Palace of the Mind sound? Let us know what you think in the comments!
