During Bethesda’s E3 conference this past year, eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a reference to an unannounced Wolfenstein project dubbed “New Colossus,” which sparked all sorts of interest and discussion among the fanbase. Months have passed and we’ve not heard anything more on the title from Bethesda, but a new interview with Brian Bloom, the voice actor for protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz in Wolfenstein: The New Order, definitely suggests that something’s in the works.
“I’ll be safe with this answer. If you look at Bethesda’s E3 2016 lineup there was a title hinted at in a cool way. It sparked a bit of wildfire. That subtle, very simple DOS language, going through the titles. Perhaps we’re working on that as we speak.”
— Brian Bloom
While Bloom didn’t come right out and confirm that
New Colossus is in the works, it’s hard to take the not-so-subtle hinting as anything else. As for what this project is—a completely new Wolfenstein title, an expansion for an already-existing game, or something else entirely—we’ll just have continue waiting for Bethesda to make an official announcement.
Are you a fan of the Wolfenstein series? Do you think we’ll hear more about this new project soon, or is Bethesda going to keep us waiting for a while? What do you hope to see with New Colossus? Let us know in the comments!
