Lilith Ltd. announced that they have cancelled Allison Road‘s Kickstarter campaign due to the title being picked up by the British company Team17, which will now publish the highly anticipated horror game. Team17 is best known for titles such as Worms, Beyond Eyes, and The Escapists, and is also publishing Playtonic Games’ Yooka-Laylee. But what does this mean for the game’s future and the 4,482 backers that have already pledged over $225,000?

According to an update that Lilith Ltd. posted on the official Kickstarter page for Allison Road, “We have decided to withdraw the Kickstarter campaign to allow us to commit 100% to an opportunity that will give us the chance as a team to create the best game possible.”

With Team17 now supporting the newly founded Lilith Ltd., Allison Road will now have “the resources, support and experience [needed] that only a 25 year old studio [could] give,” said the developer in an update on Kickstarter.

As for the backers that have already pledged for in-game rewards, “[Lilith Ltd.] will look at ways outside of Kickstarter that will allow you to be involved in the game at a later date,” meaning that all of the tiers are now defunct. According to the developer, “Since the campaign didn’t run its course, no money has been taken from anyone’s account.”

Check out Allison Road and all of its creepy goodness.
