Back in 2014, a mysterious game called ” P.T.” was unveiled at Gamescom and then uploaded to PlayStation Network. The short but memorable horror experience turned out to be a “playable teaser” for a new Silent Hill game, but an ugly divorce between Konami and Hideo Kojima led to its cancellation and the removal of P.T. from Sony’s online store.

Since then, there have been multiple attempts by fans to recreate this piece of gaming history, but most were either never completed or shut down by Konami. However, a developer going by RadiusGordello has spent the past 9 months rebuilding the game from scratch in the Unreal engine, and yesterday he released it for free. The game is fully playable, and it’s even compatible with VR devices like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

If you’re interested in learning more about the project, there are two articles that detail The Making of Unreal PT and The Development of Unreal PT. You can check out the release trailer above, and you can download the game for yourself by clicking the video and following the link in the description.
