Animal Crossing on the Nintendo GameCube is a game that, for the longest time, I didn’t even know was possible to beat. There was just so much to do and so much to see in the game that beating it was something I had never even thought about.

It turns out that it’s entirely possible, and some people even go as far as speedrunning Animal Crossing.

Just this week, one Twitch streamer named 0xa101 found their way through a complete run of the game in just 71 hours.

There’s quite a hefty list of things you can and cannot do when speedrunning – certain Nook codes are banned, all third party devices are banned, and no previously existing data must be used. Thankfully you can turn off the recording briefly so you can get some privacy during your monstrous marathon, but the timer must never stop.

The rules were laid out by a gamer named Faschz, the first known person to ever do a 100% speedrun of the the game. This is such an insane accomplishment that can only garner the deepest of my respect.

How do you feel about speedrunning a game of this magnitude? Do you think 0xa101 is going to be okay? Tell us in the comments!
