You may remember on Saturday that we reported that Keiji Inafune’s Mega Man-inspired side-scroller Mighty No. 9 was nearing its Vita and 3DS stretch goals. And thankfully, mere hours before its 31-day 8:19EDT deadline hit, that very $3.5 million stretch goal was reached and spurred official confirmation of Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita versions via the project’s Kickstarter page.

Originally intended as a Spring 2015 PC exclusive, the announcement of Mighty No. 9‘s handheld versions has broadened its console conquest for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U. Although it is currently unannounced if the handheld counterparts will differ in content, the recent 12 second footage makes one thing certain: it will make stunning use of the systems’ respective 3D and HD effects.

Were you one of the generous backers elated to reach this goal? Do you think the handheld equivalents will hold up? Will this announcement convince you to get multiple versions of the game? Be sure let us know what you think below!
