Ubisoft is continuing to change the Assassin’s Creed franchise with each new installment. This time, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey lets the player choose between a male or female character and also adds dialogue choices. The developers stated they wanted to change the way stories are told in the game, and these new options seem to be a big way they intend to do so. It’s unclear as of now how much of an impact these choices will have on the story.

However, the core gameplay of Assassin’s Creed is still there. The combat system from Origins returns, and there remains still a fair amount of walking behind NPCs while they give you exposition. But there are also plenty of awesome new things in the Greek setting. You will take control of a Spartan outcast-turned-mercenary during the Pelo War, which is set in 400s BC, which should serve to provide plenty of amazing historical moments for the developers to take players through.

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
