Gone are the days when new Amiibo launched and everyone went crazy trying to secure a copy or two. Despite the lack of new figures anytime soon, Nintendo is still going strong by making older figures available in new ways. Launching on September 22nd, retailers in Australia and New Zealand will be offering Amiibo bundles for both versions of Fire Emblem Fates, as well as for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.
In addition to the respective games, each bundle comes with a different Amiibo. Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright is packaged with the Ike figure, while Conquest comes with the once hard-to-find Marth. Somewhat surprisingly, the Super Smash Bros. bundle doesn’t come with a Mario Amiibo. Rather, it comes with one of Nintendo’s most iconic females—Samus Aran.
What good is getting Amiibo with a game if you can’t use it though? While this isn’t a problem for New Nintendo 3DS owners, those of us still on the older systems require an NFC reader. Luckily, Nintendo has us covered as all three bundles come packaged with one. Each bundle will sell for AU$69.99 upon release.
Currently, there don’t seem to be official plans to release these bundles outside of Australia and New Zealand. As for the rest of the world? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Would you like to see these bundles come to other regions? What do you think of Nintendo’s decision to include the Samus figure with Smash Bros.? Is there a different figure that you would rather see?
