Cameron Foote, a talented modder who became well-known for creating an extensive multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2, was just hired by Avalanche Studios to become a part of the team that is working on Just Cause 3. The multiplayer mod that Foote and his team had been developing for Just Cause 3 will be cancelled, as he says he will not have enough time to continue working on the mod while working for Avalanche full-time. Foote announced all of this on his website last Sunday in a heartfelt post that thanks everyone who was involved in the creation of Just Cause 2‘s multiplayer mod.

Cameron Foote’s Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod has attracted the attention of Avalanche Studios and Square Enix, Just Cause 2‘s publisher, many times in the past. Two and a half years ago, Square Enix collaborated with Foote and his team to publish the mod as official DLC for the game, which can still be downloaded from Steam.

What do you guys think? Have you played Cameron Foote’s famous mod? Are you disappointed that his team won’t release a new version for Just Cause 3? Personally, from everything I’ve seen and heard about his original mod, it seems to me like an incredibly ambitious and impressive fan project. This honor is very well-deserved, and I hope that Cameron Foote is able to make a significant impact with the future of the Just Cause games.
