The visual novel genre seems to be on the rise to popularity lately, and one of the main reasons is a gem called Hatoful Boyfriend. It would appear Hatoful Boyfriend has influenced others, and that has led to the creation of another bird themed visual novel called Aviary Attorney; however, instead of it being a lover you seek, you seek justice. For those that do not know, Hatoful Boyfriend is a dating sim crossed with a visual novel that takes place in a high school setting. The main reason it is so popular, though, is because all the characters are birds. This is the same case with Aviary Attorney, if you did not already catch that.

The game, developed by Sketchy Logic, is being described as Ace Attorney meets Hatoful Boyfriend. All with animal characters, the player will have to represent clients, study evidence, and present cases. The Kickstarter trailer above can give you a taste of the game. The game takes place in a 19th Century French setting and has the art style of the charcoal drawings of the time. Only one of the cases from the game has been revealed so far, and that is the case of Caterline Demiaou, a wealthy feline, who has been charged with murder. The Aviary Attorneys, Falcon and Sparrowson, are chosen to represent Demiaou in her trail, but the offices of The Aviary Attorneys happen to be in a rather sticky financial situation at the time of the trail.

The game has met its goal, but could always use more support from the community, as it has seventeen more days to go until the Kickstarter drive stops. If you are interested in funding for Sketchy Logic’s development, you can go to their Kickstarter here, and they can also be found on a Steam Greenlight here.

Alan Wake changed my life forever. I'm not afraid to admit my undying love for Animal Crossing. I plan to devote my life to writing and art. I have been playing video games since about the age of three and they have stayed my greatest passion. I began writing in high school through poetry and became interested in writing as a career going into college. I hope you enjoy reading what I post and to keep up with me follow me on Twitter or Instagram @artisticishalex. Peace.
