Sony started off their Gamescom conference with a new trailer of Bloodborne, a new PlayStation 4-exclusive by From Software, developer of Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls. Unlike the game’s previous reveal, this trailer actually had gameplay footage. While some gaming websites were able to play a demo of the game some months ago, this is the first official gameplay trailer of the game.

The speaker calls out a group of people known as Hunters while the footage shows the player character fighting various monsters, based on humans, animals, and fantastic beasts. While melee weapons are present, new to the game, and absent in the Souls series, are guns. While Bloodborne was previously expected to come out in 2015, we now have a launch window of 6 months.

Our Verdict

Drew Navarre
Name's Drew. Currently making my way through Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series and waiting for The Winds of Winter (A Song of Ice and Fire 6). I'm a subscriber to Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Universe, and Mega Man and I read Superior Spider-man when I can. I'm a pretty big Nintendo fan, but enjoy the other companies as well. As it stands, I have a Wii U and a new gaming desktop (3.5ghz processor, 2GB video card, 8GB RAM with support for 32GB) and plan on getting a PS4 in 2014. As for Xbox One, we'll see, but I'm sure I'll add it eventually.
