Nintendo’s recent financial report revealed the latest sales figures for
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and they’re impressive! The critically acclaimed open world game has sold over 8.48 million copies on Nintendo Switch alone, and Nintendo previously reported that the Wii U version had sold at least 1.5 million copies as of three months ago.
Combining these figures puts you right at the 10 million mark, which makes Breath of the Wild the highest-selling Zelda of all time. That said, there’s a bit of a catch. If you include remasters and remakes in the equation, Breath of the Wild still has some climbing to do. The 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time puts its combined sales at 11.6 million, while the Wii U’s HD remaster of Twilight Princess brings its total to around 10 million as well. Excluding the remakes and remasters puts Ocarina and Twilight Princess at 7.6 million and 8.85 million, respectively.
