Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure game released for PC (Windows, Linux, Mac) earlier in January of this year and for other platforms like Ouya later down the road. The title by Double Fine Productions was very well-received and garnered a nice following from its initial Kickstarter campaign.

As an episodic series, Act 1 ended on a rather nice cliffhanger. Act 2, which was initially slated to release late 2014, has been confirmed for a early 2015 release scope.

“The goal now is to get all the finale work done so we can hit Alpha on all of Act 2 by the end of the year. That means, as you may have guessed based on recent updates and documentary episodes, the Act 2 ship that will deliver the complete adventure is now looking like it will be early next year.”

Producer Greg Rice provided details in a forum post on the official Double Fine Productions website.

That means, as you may have guessed based on recent updates and documentary episodes, the Act 2 ship that will deliver the complete adventure is now looking like it will be early next year. The game is looking really good and the team is working super fast, but we just gotta give the game the time it needs to really deliver on everything we’re hoping it will be.”

Personally, I haven’t developed a point-and-click adventure video game, but I understand the game design and programming aspect that goes into it. Developing any kind of game takes patience to an extent, and Double Fine enjoys detailing their games’ narratives and mechanics, so it’s understandable to hear about this slight delay from them.
