Devil May Cry 5 is due out tomorrow, and reviews have been extremely positive so far in what appears to be a trend for Capcom. Although they’re home to many beloved IP, Capcom isn’t always the most beloved of publishers. The company has fallen in and out of the good graces of its fans over the years, and it would seem that upper management recognizes this.
After the embargo lifted and the Devil May Cry 5 reviews began to pour in, Capcom USA CEO Kiichiro Urata released a short video on Twitter announcing “Capcom is back!” This is followed by an enthusiastic “YEAH!” from Capcom producer Matt Walker. Devil May Cry’s strong reception comes shortly after the Resident Evil 2 remake received similar praise. Capcom also saw strong scores for Mega Man 11 and Monster: Hunter World in 2018.
So what do you think, readers? Is Capcom really “back,” or are you not yet sold on their revival? Or are you among those who believe they never “left” in the first place? Sound off in the comments!
