It seems like Cave Story, the famous indie platformer from Japanese developer Daisuke Amaya, will be coming to Nintendo Switch this summer. Earlier this week, Nicalis announced that it will be releasing Cave Story+, a remastered version of the game with HD graphics, additional game modes, and new bosses and levels, for the Switch on June 20th, 2017. The game will get both a physical and a digital release, both of which will cost $29.99.

Although this is the first official confirmation that Cave Story is coming to the Switch, fans have been expecting this announcement for quite some time. A few months ago, Tyrone Rodriguez, the founder of Nicalis, tweeted a photo of a Nintendo Switch home menu with several games on it, including Cave Story. He deleted the tweet almost immediately after posting it. Of course, this all led many fans to speculate that Nicalis was secretly working on porting the game to Nintendo Switch sometime in the near future.

Along with the announcement, Studio Pixel revealed the official box art for Cave Story on Nintendo Switch, and it’s gorgeous. You can take a look in the gallery below.
