Last week, a Nintendo Treehouse employee named Chris Pranger appeared on a podcast and spoke about some of the behind-the-scenes aspects of Nintendo, and soon afterwards he was fired. Nintendo had not authorized Pranger to appear on the podcast, and they decided his comments warranted termination.
This decision has drawn criticism from many in the industry, including longtime developer Cliff Bleszinski. Reacting to the firing, Cliffy B criticized Nintendo’s lack of transparency in a series of tweets, and said “Kinda sad to know the company you grew up with and worshipped and still adore you’d never want to work for, ever.” Do you think Nintendo’s decision was warranted, or was their reaction a mistake? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
