Activision announced today their collaboration with GameStop involving Eminem’s new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which is to be released on Tuesday, November 5th, the same day that Call of Duty: Ghosts releases. Preordering and purchasing Call of Duty: Ghosts at GameStop will earn you a code at launch to download a special edition of the new album, with an exclusive bonus track, for the discounted price of $8.99. Said offer is redeemable through the two weeks following launch.
Furthermore, GameStop and Activision released a statement proclaiming that the next entry in the popular Call of Duty franchise is set to be 2013’s most preordered game. From GameStop’s SVP of merchandising, Bob Puzon:
Call of Duty is an entertainment juggernaut and cultural phenomenon. We are excited for the upcoming release of the new installment of this blockbuster franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts. We look forward to celebrating the worldwide November launch of this great game that is on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year. — Bob Puzon
In even more Call of Duty news, Activision and and Infinity Ward have released the first trailer detailing the game’s campaign mode. The game’s blurb reads:
Outnumbered and outgunned, but not outmatched. Call of Duty: Ghosts takes the critically-acclaimed franchise into the next generation. New world. New story. New, next-gen engine.
The game releases on November 5th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U. Additionally, it will be a launch title for the Xbox One on November 22nd, as well as the PlayStation 4 on November 15th.
