In Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Rey was portrayed by Daisy Ridley as a young and savvy scavenger who knew her way around a spaceship. Ridley recently sat down for a Facebook Live event to answer a number of questions, including whether or not she was mechanically savvy like Rey. It does not look like the actress mirrors these traits, as she shared a story about a hilarious incident with a PlayStation 4.
“Last weekend, I got sent a Star Wars PlayStation. I was with my friends and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I know what I’m going to do; let me plug in the PlayStation,'” she recalled. “I had no idea how to do it, so I looked online; looked it all up. Plugged it into the thing; it didn’t work. She came over again and I was like, ‘I wish the PlayStation would work!’ And she was like, ‘I bet you put it in the wrong socket.’ It literally took her two seconds and then it worked, and I’m like, ‘You could have said that last weekend.’ It proves that I am in no way mechanical or technological.”
Star Wars PlayStation she was referring to was most likely the limited edition Star Wars Battlefront PS4 that was released last November. I think it was hilarious to hear that something as simple as plugging in a PlayStation 4 into an outlet would turn out to be a difficult experience.
