FromSoftware’s Dark Souls was one of the biggest games of the last generation, and soon it will see new life on modern platforms. Dark Souls Remastered drops on May 25th, but is it an upgrade worth your money? Digital Foundry went hands-on with the remaster on PlayStation 4 Pro, and they’ve provided an excellent graphical and performance comparison between that version and the original on Xbox 360.
The new version of the game is crisp and smooth, running at a resolution of 3200×1800 at 60 frames per second. Textures are a bit of a mixed bag, with FromSoftware sometimes choosing to upgrade them and sometimes leaving them as is. Even similar textures appear improved though, as lighting has been overhauled to better display the game’s assets. You can check out the full breakdown by clicking the video above.
