The Destiny beta was a massive success, drawing in 4.6 million players. In addition to providing an early look at the game, the beta also allowed developer Bungie to weigh feedback from fans and make adjustments to create a better final product. Unfortunately, there’s a negative side to the game’s evolution. Because Bungie has used fan feedback to tweak things like experience, items, and other features, your character and items from the beta will not transfer over to the full game when it’s released. Bungie says that there’s no “monumental” changes, but “the sum of the tweaks leaves characters from the Beta Build in strange shape that would be confusing at best, broken at worst.” Looks like you’ll have to start fresh when Destiny launches worldwide on September 9.
