With the new Rise of Iron expansion coming soon, there may be several people who are thinking about playing Destiny for the first time. For those wanting to experience the game digitally, a new listing on the Xbox Live Store seems to suggest that the original game is available for free. However, Bungie has confirmed this is not the case. Instead, this “free” version of Destiny will only provide access to the game’s trial version.

Players who are wanting the game for the first time must purchase
Destiny: The Collection, which will feature all five campaigns, including the upcoming Rise of Iron. If you would like to just pay for the original campaign on Xbox One, the only way to do so would be to buy a physical version of the game.

What do you guys think? Should the original
Destiny be available to purchase on the Xbox Live Store? Is it better to only sell the game with all five campaigns digitally? Sound off in the comments below!

Our Verdict

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
