Detective Pikachu began its life as a video game on Nintendo 3DS, but Warner Bros., Legendary, and The Pokémon Company saw the potential for much more. A film adaptation is set to hit the big screen on May 10th, and they’re not stopping there either. The Pokémon Company and Legendary have just announced that they’re also teaming up for a graphic novel adaptation.

The Detective Pikachu graphic novel will be written by Brian Buccellato with art by Nelson Dániel, and it will be available in stores and online this Summer. The graphic novel will draw inspiration from the movie, which itself draws heavily from the game. Whether you prefer to play, watch, or read, there’s plenty of ways to experience the story and world of Detective Pikachu.
