Nearly twelve years ago, Hideo Kojima gifted PlayStation 2 owners with the thrilling Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, telling the exploits and hardships of Naked Snake—later known as Big Boss—during the Cold War. Snake Eater received critical acclaim upon launch and continues to be hailed as one of the greatest video games of all time to this very day, even seeing re-releases not too long ago on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS.

That said, it’s always fun to discover tidbits of trivia around any game’s development and to understand weird design choices and the reasoning behind them. That is where gaming trivia channel
Did You Know Gaming comes in, as always, highlighting some of the lesser-known secrets behind Metal Gear Solid 3 with a video narrated by YouTuber Super Bunnyhop.

I surely had no idea how something as farfetched as the
Back to the Future movies tied in to the game before today! Did you learn anything new about Metal Gear Solid 3 from the video as well, and if so, did that knowledge leave you with a newfound appreciation for the game? Leave us your thoughts in the comments. And if you want more Metal Gear knowledge, you can check out the episode Did You Know Gaming did on
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty early last month.
