Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is a morbid, mysterious game on its own, with a surreal plot about identity and virtual reality, where nothing is certain. In addition to this, the game is peppered with little-known easter eggs, bugs, and pop culture references, which add another level of surrealism to the plot. Did You Know Gaming, a YouTube channel that makes videos listing strange facts about different video games, recently made a video about Metal Gear Solid 2, which reveals some really unexpected things about the game’s development and all the weird stuff that found its way onto the final version, highlighting all the strange choices Kojima made with this game.

What do you guys think? Did you know about any of this stuff? Personally, I think the weirdest thing I learned from this video is the fact that lots of the rooms in the Big Shell have the names of digestive organs, because Kojima wanted people to feel as if they were being “swallowed and digested” as they made their way through the environment.
