Earlier today, Eurogamer released a report claiming to reveal tons of information about NX. Nintendo’s upcoming console is said to be a handheld device that connects to a base in order to serve as a home console as well. According to several sources, it’s powered by the Nvidia Tegra X1 chip found in the Shield Android TV console and the Google Pixel C tablet.
With this in mind, Digital Foundry has released an analysis video that compares the Nvidia Tegra X1’s performance against other gaming devices. While NX should easily outperform Wii U, Digital Foundry doesn’t expect it to be on par with PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. That said, they also speculate that the X1 chip could be a placeholder and that the finished product could contain X2 chips when NX launches next March.
