Back when Bayonetta 2 was announced at E3 last year, developer Platinum Games received quite a bit of backlash from the original game’s fanbase. Still, many fans remained optimistic and hoped that Platinum would eventually release Bayonetta 2 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 after a new publisher came along to fund a port. Well, it seems those few optimistic fans won’t be getting their wish granted anytime soon—or ever, for that matter, according to Hideki Kamiya.

“We’re a development company…Nintendo gives us money, we make Bayonetta 2 and W101, and they sell it…So if Nintendo says ‘We’re putting Bayonetta 2 on PS360′ it’ll come out on those platforms…So ask Nintendo about it…” — Hideki Kamiya

Of course, it is highly unlikely that Nintendo would ever agree to release a title on a competing system. Keeping it a Wii U exclusive would increase the incentive to buy a Wii U and increase their profits. While this will probably upset a few fans, I for one am excited to see what Platinum does with the Wii U GamePad to enhance the overall combat experience. What about you? What do you hope to see in Bayonetta 2 or The Wonderful 101? Be sure to tell us in the comments!
