Dragon Ball: Fusions recently launched in North America (three weeks ahead of schedule), and since then fans have picked up on a rather bizarre localization change. The Japanese version of the game features several sword-based attacks (particularly in the case of Future Trunks), but in North America these attacks have all been changed so that the characters use sticks instead of swords.

The 3DS game is rated T for Teen in North America, and the sword attacks aren’t full of blood and gore, so there’s no immediately apparent reason as to why this change was made. Developer Bandai Namco Entertainment has not commented on the change at this time.
