If you’re like me and you’ve had a Goku-sized hole in your heart since Dragon Ball Super went on an extended hiatus earlier this year, cheer up! Goku, Vegeta, and other friends and foes will be returning for the first official Dragon Ball Super movie later this year. Shortly after the film’s initial showing in Japan, it’s headed to North America in English.
The United States and Canada can look forward to the film’s theatrical release on January 16th, after a world premiere of the English dub in Hollywood on December 13th. Exact details on show times, theater locations, and pricing will be released at a later date. In the meantime, you can enjoy the debut English trailer above.
Dragon Ball Super: Broly sees a classic character re-imagined and made canon for the first time. The film’s script and Broly’s new look were both provided by series creator Akira Toriyama. The story will span multiple planets and time periods, and it will shed new light on the history of the Saiyans and Frieza.
