The adorable puppy-like Rockruff made its debut in Pokémon Sun and Moon last year, and what made it stand out from the pack was its ability to evolve into one of two different versions of Lycanroc: the quicker, quadruped Midday form and the bulky, bipedal Midnight form. With the upcoming release of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon on Nintendo 3DS later this year, The Pokémon Company recently introduced Lycanroc’s brand new Dusk Form. This special Lycanroc, however, will only be available to early adopters of either game for a limited time.

TPC revealed this morning that Lycanroc’s Dusk Form cannot be achieved in-game by evolving Rockruff via normal means. However, a special Rockruff will be distributed to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon through the Nintendo Network on November 17, 2017 at launch through January 10, 2018. This special Rockruff evolves into the Tough Claws-bearing Dusk Form Lycanroc upon leveling up, and can learn both Accelerock and Counter—moves favored by its Midday and Midnight forms.

More details will follow the closer launch day approaches. Are you excited for this third form of Rockruff’s evolution? Annoyed that you won’t be able to obtain it normally? Which of the three types of Lycanroc is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!
