Tonight at the Sony E3 press conference, we got the first look at Kojima Production and Konami’s latest game in the Metal Gear Solid series: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. For those who don’t know, The Phantom Pain is a direct follow up to Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and is the main part of the greater Metal Gear Solid V universe.
This game is supposed to be the final entry in Big Boss’ storyline of the Metal Gear Solid timeline, finally bridge the gap between Big Boss and Solid Snake’s storylines, and lead directly into the events of the original Metal Gear from 1987 on the MSX and the creation of Outer Heaven.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain also utilizes the highly touted Fox Engine, created by Kojima Productions for the specific purpose of making this game. This looks to be the biggest and greatest Metal Gear Solid game to date.
