It was announced at E3 2013 that the 2008 EA cult classic Mirror’s Edge was getting a long anticipated sequel. They showed a small trailer for it, which can be found above, but it wasn’t dwelled upon. Since then, speculation and discussion have run across forums and discussion boards, but we haven’t had much in the way of official news. However, it seems we may finally have some concrete news on the subject!
GameTrailers has presented us with the official Spike TV broadcast for all of E3. In addition to the Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and all the other major press conferences, they give us the scoop on EA’s upcoming press conference as well:

Live from the Shine Exposition Center, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson reveals Battlefield: Hardline and world premieres nearly a half-dozen new games, including updates on Mirror’s Edge, Dragon Age: Inquisition, a new project from Criterion Games, and much more.
In it, they tell us to expect more news for Mirror’s Edge 2, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and an upcoming but unnamed Criterion game. For those who do not know, Criterion was responsible for the excellent remakes of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted. So, whatever game comes out of that studio is sure to be excellent work!
