Two months ago, we started hearing rumblings that cult hit Mother 3 will finally be coming to the West this year. Industry insiders Liam Robertson and Emily Rogers both made this claim, and Eurogamer writer Tom Phillips later corroborated the story, stating that he heard the same thing from a separate source. We haven’t heard any additional details since then, and the game’s tenth anniversary (April 20th) is rapidly approaching. Despite the silence from Nintendo, Rogers says that (according to her sources) Mother 3 is still planned to launch this year. If we don’t get an announcement in time for the anniversary, hopefully we’ll see a reveal at E3 in June.
