Earlier this year, to the horror of PC gamers everywhere, Valve unveiled the concept of paid mods for Steam, with The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim being the first game to test the waters. However, gamers responded with an extraordinary backlash against Valve, with arguments both for and against the very idea of paid mods, and the company finally caved and backtracked on the concept. In addition, the end user license agreement for the upcoming Fallout 4 contains a section declaring that all mods for the game must be distributed for free.

In spite all of this, there are still quite a few people who believe that paid mods could exist and change things for the better. What about you? Where do you stand?
