We’re Looking for New Writers and Editors to Join Gamnesia and Help Make Gaming News Great Again

0

We at Gamnesia are always looking to grow our staff, and as we head into the last few weeks of Summer, now’s a great time to expand the team! We’re looking for volunteers to help run the show here, from writing to editing and more. If you’ve ever wanted to join the gaming industry as a journalist, now’s your chance to dip your toes in the water! We have no age requirement, nor do we care whether or not you have past professional experience; what we’re looking for in staff is a talent, respect, and dedication to the craft and a love for the gaming community.

We’re currently seeking both Junior Editors and Copy Editors to add to our team. Junior Editors are the starting position here for the Gamnesia staff—they carry much of the weight for writing day-to-day. Copy Editors, meanwhile, are responsible for checking the site’s grammar and proofreading Junior Editors’ work before it goes live. If you’re dying to spread information to others about the latest gaming news, the Junior Editor team would love to have you! Likewise, if you’re a stickler for English and love games, Copy Editing is the job for you!

And though it doesn’t say so on the hiring information page, we’re also looking for video editors who can contribute to our social media presence on a regular basis. We will be highly selective with the A/V applications, and even after contacting you, we will go through a careful discussion process aimed at finding the right people for the job.

All of these positions are offered on an exclusively volunteer basis for the foreseeable future, although we’re trying hard to reach a point where we can offer compensation to the entire staff down the road. If you’re interested in joining the team,
head on over here and apply to Gamnesia today! We’re looking forward to meeting you!

**Please note that due to the high volume of emails at peak application times, we unfortunately cannot respond to every application—we do carefully vet every application, but we will contact you
only if you’ve been approved for further discussion.**

If you have any questions, join in the conversation in the comments below! You may find others curious about the same things and our answers, or you can ask us your own questions and we’ll be right there for you.

Colin McIsaac
I first played Donkey Kong Country before even turning three years old, and have since grown into an avid gamer and passionate Nintendo fan. I started working at Zelda Informer in August 2012, and helped found Gamnesia, which launched on February 1, 2013. Outside of the journalism game, I'm an invested musician who loves arranging music from video games and other media. If you care to follow my endeavors, you can check out my channel here: http://youtube.com/user/pokemoneinstein I was rummaging through some things a while back and found my first grade report card. My teacher said, "Oddly enough, Colin doesn't like to write unless it's about computers or computer-type games. In his journal he likes to write about what level he is on in 'Mario Land,' but he doesn't often write about much else." I was pretty amused, given where I am today. Also I have a dog, and he's a pretty cool guy. I don't care for elephants much. I suppose they're okay. You've read plenty now; carry on.
