For those worried about the consequences of Facebook’s acquisition of Oculus Rift, there’s definitely a positive side to a mega corporation taking control, and that’s funding. Facebook will now be hiring security researchers as part of a bug bounty program. These researchers will test out every aspect of the virtual reality headset, and Facebook will pay them to find and report any bugs, so that they can be fixed and the device can run more smoothly. At this time it is said that most of the bugs involve the messaging system for Oculus developers and the Oculus website. Hopefully Oculus Rift will be a fully-functioning and relatively bug-free product in the near future.
