While rumors were swirling in the days leading up to E3, Bethesda effectively shocked the industry with the announcement of a Prey reboot. After canceling the long-in-development Prey 2, Bethesda regrouped and came out swinging with an all new Prey that’s looking to be an exciting title, and they’ve employed the help of industry veteran Chris Avellone of Fallout: New Vegas fame.
Avellone revealed this on his Twitter account, via the tweet seen below. However, he neglected to state exactly what his role in this new title is; with a wide-spanning resume including level designer, creative director, and narrative writer, there’s no guarantee that he will be penning the story as he did for Fallout: New Vegas.
After the long, tumultuous development of the now-canceled
Prey 2, it’s exciting to see Bethesda taking the series down a new path, this time with the help of Arkane Studios. Are you excited for the Prey? Sound off in the comments.
