The Warriors series has spawned a number of crossovers and spin-offs since it first launched in 1997. Birthed by Omega Force and Koei back on the PlayStation, Dynasty Warriors — and its sister franchise Samurai Warriors — allowed gamers to play the roles of famous Chinese and Japanese historical figures in a bid for world conquest through hack-and-slash gameplay, capturing keeps and slaying regional boss characters in their wake.

Later, the expanded meta-series brought the signature
Warriors-style gameplay to a number of existing anime and gaming franchises, bringing in new players to the genre through familiar characters. Through the ongoing Shōnen Jump manga One Piece came the Pirate Warriors games, just as Fist of the North Star later spawned Ken’s Rage. Most recently, a Legend of Zelda collaboration with Nintendo brought Hyrule Warriors to the Wii U, and later this year will bring Hyrule Warriors Legends to the 3DS.

Famitsu Weekly recently held a poll asking what series readers would like to see join the
Warriors family next, and Koei Tecmo responded to the results! Here’s what they have to say about the following suggestions:
