Final Fantasy XV is scheduled to be released at the end of this month, and Square Enix does not plan to stop the hype train anytime soon. In Square Enix’s latest announcement, they had revealed that Mobile Strike developer Machine Zone is developing a massively multiplayer online mobile game based on Final Fantasy XV‘s universe. The mobile game will feature the characters and storyline from the console game and use Machine Zone’s technology, “which allows millions of people around the world to play together in a single universe in real time.” Machine Zone CEO Gabe Leydon expressed his excitement for the game in a heartfelt statement.
“It is an honor to work on a franchise I have loved since I was a kid. Final Fantasy is an iconic franchise in gaming. Bringing Final Fantasy XV to the mobile MMO gaming world is a significant opportunity for our players and we are proud to partner with Square Enix.” — Gabe Leydon
Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda also expressed his excitement, mentioning Machine Zone’s “stellar” track record.
