During their investor meeting yesterday, Nintendo announced that they would be releasing a new mobile game in the Fire Emblem franchise. While they haven’t given too many details yet about the game, including a release window or pricing model, we do now know what kind of game the title will be. During Nintendo’s financial results briefing, president Tatsumi Kimishima stated that the upcoming mobile game will offer a “more accessible style of gameplay” compared to similar games on dedicated gaming hardware; however, he also stated that the game will still provide a “fully engaging experience as a role-playing simulation game,” confirming that it will be similar in style to traditional Fire Emblem games.
“We are currently developing an application for smart devices based on Fire Emblem. We expect that many consumers will experience Fire Emblem for the first time on their smart device, so this application will offer a more accessible style of gameplay compared to the titles for dedicated video game systems. At the same time, we still aim to provide a fully engaging experience as a role-playing simulation game.” — Tatsumi Kimishima
