The Forza Motorsport franchise still proves to be one of the gods of the racing game genre. Always delivering top tier graphics, a lighting system that looks so real you think you’re looking at a live race on your TV, and the ability to make you feel like you’re sitting in the driver’s seat of an exotic Italian formula car. The franchise turns gamers into car-lovers and car-lovers into gamers, and the developers of the iconic racing series plan to continue this process with Forza Motorsport 6.
On Monday, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios announced the next installment at a press release. The video above, published by Microsoft, shows the primary highlights of the event. A few brief shots of the Ford GT, the new signature car for the cover of the game, can be seen during it as well as Turn 10 Creative Director Dan Greenwalt discussing concepts for the game.
“That’s the best part about this partnership. Cutting edge technology in games. The rise of the gamer. The importance of that consumer. Legitimacy of a new generation getting into cars. And Ford Performance, pushing technology, pushing innovation in efficiency, light weighting, new types of power trains. It’s very exciting.” — Dan Greenwalt
A series of interviews were also conducted at the event, proving that Ford Performance Marketing Manager Henry Ford III was excited about the new partnership as well.
“It’s really Incredible. It’s been a really wonderful partnership, and I have so much more understanding and respect for everything that goes into creating a realistic and authentic game like Forza, where all of our customers can drive and race these fantastic vehicles in a real world setting. It’s just phenomenal. It is just such a wonderful thing for us to be involved in it.” — Henry Ford III
