When one thinks “From Software,” the next items to come to mind would usually be “Dark Souls,” “Bloodborne,” or the recently revealedSekiro: Shadows Die Twice.” These games share a common thread of violent action and copious amounts of blood, but the studio’s latest project could not be more different from its predecessors.

Déraciné (lit. “Uprooted” in French) is a new game by From Software and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation VR, telling the story of a young spirit summoned to a private boarding school by a young girl. As the above trailer’s description notes, “the player must prove its existence” by manipulating both time and the life force of living beings, and “build a unique bond with the students through [these] clever interactions.”
