Game Freak’s beloved
Pokémon franchise recently turned 20 years old, and one of the ways they celebrated was by re-releasing Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow on the 3DS Virtual Console with added wireless features. This move was a big hit with fans, and many have been expecting that Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal will get the same treatment on 3DS or possibly Nintendo Switch.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like this will be happening anytime soon. IGN recently spoke with Pokémon boss Junichi Masuda, and while he confirmed that Game Freak is interested in creating more remakes, he also stated that there are currently no plans to bring the second generation games to Virtual Console. Would you get these classic games again if Nintendo gave you the opportunity?
