Back in January, video game retailer GameStop surprised the industry by announcing that they would be publishing Insomniac Games’ upcoming title, Song of the Deep. GameStop stated that they were not interested in becoming a publisher, and that the move was simply to take advantage of “a great opportunity to collaborate in a non-traditional way.”

Not too long after this declaration, GameStop has announced that they will be publishing games for three more companies. Tequila Works (Deadlight, Rime), Ready at Dawn (The Order: 1886), and Frozenbyte (Trine) will all be partnering with GameStop to release games. None of the GameStop-published titles have been revealed yet, but Game Informer speculates that Rime and Shadwen could be involved. GameStop has stated that they do not intend to interfere in the creative process, and instead, they’ll focus on “leveraging retail space and distribution.”
