In today’s Hyrule Warriors Direct, we learned that Ganondorf, the Demon King himself, will be playable in Hyrule Warriors alongside fellow villains Ghirahim and Zant from Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess respectively.

Ganondorf will wield two heavy swords, and he’ll also have plenty of dark magic at his disposal. Like Link and Zelda, Ganondorf has gotten a major makeover for Hyrule Warriors, complete with a flowing mane of red hair.

Ghirahim will fight using a Demon Blade and will take advantage of his ability to teleport around the battlefield. Much like Fi, he also able to transform into his sword form for certain special attacks; another of his attacks allows him to transform into his all-black form from his final battle in Skyward Sword.

Zant will fight using scimitars, and he has a special attack that allows him to grow huge and stomp on enemies; while we don’t know a whole lot else about his attacks, it’s safe to assume that a lot of them will be taken from his Twilight Princess boss fight.

In addition to these three playable characters, Nintendo also announced a set of costumes for Ganondorf; The Demon King costume pack will include downloadable costumes of the Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess incarnations of Ganondorf. This costume pack will be exclusive to Club Nintendo members, but there is no official word yet as to how members can expect to receive the pack. Likely, the pack will be given to anyone who registers Hyrule Warriors on Club Nintendo, but you never know.

With three villains confirmed as playable characters, could we also get to play as Cia, Valga, and Wizzro? Hopefully. What do you guys think? Check out the videos above to take a look at the the characters and costumes in action!
