Sony and Microsoft are both hard at work on their next-generation consoles (with holiday 2020 looking likely as a release window), but there might soon be a new player in the competition. For months now we’ve been hearing rumors of Google’s growing interest in the video game market, but rather than focusing primarily on hardware, they’re expected to make a big splash in the realm of video game streaming.
So what exactly is Google planning? We shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out. Game Developers Conference 2019 kicks off on March 18th, and Google will be in attendance. In fact, they’ll be holding a keynote speech the next day. According to a recent tweet, this presentation will “unveil Google’s vision for the future of gaming.” It all kicks off on March 19th at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern, and we’ll cover the news here at Gamnesia.
