Before Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS was officially released everywhere, many people speculated at the game’s potential roster. Although we all know what the final roster looks like, there appears to have been some characters that were planned to be in Smash Bros. but were left on the cutting room floor. According to Source Gaming, some unused animation data was found on the Smash Bros. Wii U disc that indicates Peter Piranha was planned to be in the game.

It is important to note that “There are no models, textures, sounds, parameters for Petey Piranha. Only animation data.” Source Gaming has also verified that the animations found on the disc are not left over from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If you take a look at the video above, the animations are pretty close to how Petey Piranha normally moves.
