Nintendo fans have wanted to play classic games on the Nintendo Switch since its reveal. Back in July, Senior Executive Officer Satoshi Yamato suggested that Nintendo was rethinking how they wanted to release their retro titles in the future. Since there’s still no word of a Virtual Console service for the Switch, however, some fans have taken it upon themselves to run emulators on the system through hacking.
Currently, the Switch can emulate NES, SNES, Game Boy (Original, Color, and Advance), and the original release of DOOM. You can check out some footage of these emulators running at full speed in the videos below.
So what do you think will happen with Virtual Console on the Switch? Do you believe fans will have to resort to hacking forever for their classic gaming fix? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
